Abstract
In this study, the researcher employed the 21st-century learning method by using motion graphics as part of the initiative to scaffold students to improve their performance. The study investigated the use of motion graphics for year five social studies class on the topic ‘The founding of the Kingdom of Brunei’ in a selected government primary school in Brunei Darussalam. This study examined the impact of using motion graphics and attaining student perception in teaching social studies. In this study, the researcher applied the quantitative method to analyse the difference between pretest and post-test 1, post-test 2, and post-test 3 to measure the significance of using motion graphics as teaching material. Also, the researcher incorporated qualitative data collection, which used interviews to evaluate the students’ perceptions of the implementation of motion graphics. The result of the study showed a significant effect on student performance and earned various perspectives from students on the uses of motion graphics. The study’s findings provide positive views and information to educational practitioners and teachers concerning the usage of motion graphics in teaching social studies classes especially during the pandemic of Covid-19.
