Strand: Pedagogy
This study investigated the implementation of Inquiry-based learning with Flipped Classroom (IBL-FC) on technical education students in order to understand how it can help to improve students’ understanding of learning scientific concepts. This action research study included both quantitative and qualitative methods conducted over three intervention cycles in accordance to the TPACK knowledge dimensions starting from ‘Declarative’, followed by ‘Procedural’ and lastly to ‘Schematic’ knowledge dimensions. Findings from this research study showed that there was a significant improvement on students’ understanding of learning concept during each of the intervention cycles, as well as improvement on students’ inquiry skills for learning. Overall, students also showed positive responses with the use of IBL-FC as their learning model.
