Mohammad Ghani bin Awang Ahmad graduated with a Bachelor of Science Education in 2009. He currently teach at SM Rimba II. His responsibilities in school include being in the senior leadership team year 8, SM academic III (numeracy), digital learning coordinator and the PISA test administrator.


Abstract

NUMERACY 360

Strand: Pedagogy

This programme is developed to provide remedial and strengthening basic level of proficiency in Numeracy focusing on problem-solving skills in the 2 topics, Fractions and Integers. Target students in this programme is from year 7, Year 10 and 11 Tech (SAP). This programme took place during the outbreak. The processes of intervention were done in 3 phases (before, during and after Covid-19). During this timeline, 2 approaches were used comprising face-to-face approach and online approach as part of the initiative in Home-Based Numeracy and parents’ engagement which is applied to year 7 students only. Two sets of data were taken throughout the programme (Diagnostic Test and Checkpoint Test) to see progress and short-term impact of students’ performance. EDS (Emerging Developing and Secure) tracking tool was used in this progress to monitor students zone movements from diagnostic test to checkpoint test. The analysis of the results is also included in this programme to see the progress and overview.
